Music Out of This World

Posted on: Tuesday, Apr 26, 2011

I have been a fan of Jethro Tull for close on 40 years.  The band is currently on tour in Australia but before heading Down Under, Ian Anderson marked the 50th anniversary of the Yuri Gagarin first manned space flight.  Anderson was in Perm, Russia and he did a Space Flute Duet with NASA Colonel Cady Coleman.  Here’s a link – I love the way the weightless flute drops past the flags of the world in the opening.  The piece is Bourée. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&v=XeC4nqBB5BM
