Wii-Fit? Wii-Not?

Michigander MSer, Tricia, has written about how participating in an MS balance study has made a big difference to the quality of her life. Tricia used a Nintendo Wii-Fit in the study to see if balance games would help with everyday MS. Since diagnosis seven years ago at age 28, Tricia now uses a cane and a walker for assistance and a wheelchair for distances. Once she mastered balancing on the Wii-Fit she got better at the games and, apart from the fun and sense of achievement, Tricia now walks faster, straighter and with more confidence. Tricia’s favourite games are Table Tilt and Table Tilt Plus – she also played Ski Slalom, Penguin Slide and Balance Bubble in the study.
